Kay A. Justis, 68, Claypool, formerly of Nappanee, died Thursday, Aug. 25 from injuries from an explosion in her home. She was born October 4, 1947 in Elkhart to Ross C. and Loella (Gall) Martin.
Kay was a 1965 graduate of Nappanee High School and attended Anderson College. She lived her lifetime in Elkhart and Kosciusko counties.
On March 26, 1995, she married Larry Justis in Waterford. Kay had worked at LuAnn Nursing Home in Nappanee and at the New Paris Post Office. She was a member of Center Methodist Church in Silver Lake and loved her Lord. Kay loved spending time with her grandchildren and had a tender heart for animals.
Justis is survived by her husband, Larry; daughters, Paula Mullins, Angie (Jaime) Oviedo, Nappanee, Stephanie (Donald) Knowlton, Jimtown, Michelle (John) Weldy, Indianapolis, Jamie Justis, Niles, Mich.; grandchildren, Kaysee Neher, Kyle Neher, Caitlynn Justis, Kenndy Knowlton, Xavier Oviedo, Alexis Oviedo, Kelsey Knowlton, Christopher Weldy, Danielle Weldy, Lillian Justis,; great grandchildren, Emily Justis, Reilly Justis, Madelyn Justis; and sisters, Judy Spencer, Leesburg, and Pat (Charles) Ulrich, Blandinsvillle, Ill..
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. , Saturday, Sept. 3, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. Funeral Services will begin at 4 pm. Rev. Kent B. Harting will officiate and burial will be in Hepton Union Cemetery.
