Vanoma I. “Judy” McFadden, 85, of rural Claypool, passed at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at Kosciukso Community Hospital of Warsaw.
She was born on Aug 27, 1931 in Howell, Mich. to JC and Nellie (Kaiser) Sprague.
She was married on Nov. 10, 1951 in Millville, Mich. to Dr. Orville L. McFadden, he survives.
She had worked for Midwest Poultry for 18 years. She also worked for 20 years as secretary and receptionist for her husband at the veterinary clinic in Mentone.
She was a 1951 graduate of Dansville Agricultural High School. She was a member of the Mentone United Methodist. She also was a member of the Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary Post #49 and the Mentone Order of the Eastern Star where she had been past Matron. She liked to garden and cook and she always had room for one more at her table. Family was her life. She enjoyed seeing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband: Dr. Orville L. McFadden; her daughters: Deneice Childers, Akron; Karen (Roy) Dishong, Huntington; sons: James (Debra) McFadden, Mentone; Roland (Pam) McFadden, Claypool; six grandchildren: Rebekah, Megan, Jenna, Elizabeth, Nathan and Devin; nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dean (1983); a son-in-law, Keith Childers; a sister, Gladys Stewart; a brother, Harley Sprague.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 2 at King Memorial Home in Mentone. Pastor Jason Rice will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at IOOF Cemetery in New Haven. Those who wish to visit with the family may do so from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1 at King Memorial Home.
