Edgar Lampkin, 74, Kokomo, passed away Oct. 20, 2016 in Kokomo.
He was born March 6, 1942 in Lee County, Va. to Charles B. and Cynthia Jane (Worley) Lampkin.
After graduating from Castlewood High School in Virginia, Edgar joined the United States Army where he served as a tank mechanic. After relocating to Indiana, he began a career with Chrysler that lasted for 30 ½ years; he retired in 2002.
He is survived by a son: Scott (Mary) Lampkin, Claypool; five grandchildren: Justin, Austin, Warren, Skyler, Stephen and a great granddaughter, Riley. Also surviving is a brother, Frank Lampkin of Amboy; and three sisters: Elizabeth Engle of Virginia; Mary Patrick of Michigan; Barbara Hurd of Florida; and his lady friend, Sue Jones of Kokomo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Kaleb.
Visitation for Edgar will be from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday October 25 at Faith Baptist Church, 600 South Dixon Rd, Kokomo. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the church; Pastor Dale Britton will officiate. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery with military honors.
Memorial contributions may be given to Kokomo VFW Post 1152.
