Julia Faye Francis, 81, Claypool, passed away at 7:15 p.m., Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Prestonsburg, Ky. to Johnny and Mary (Adams) Owens.
On Nov. 1, 1952, in Silver Lake, she married the love of her life, Harold Francis, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Together they raised five children, Charles (Toni) Francis, Burket; Bobby (Brenda) Francis, Mentone; Jerry (Karen) Francis, Rochester; Debbie Francis, Claypool; and Brooks (Natalie) Francis, Claypool.
She had ten grandchildren, Ann (Bret) Torpy, Joel (Tina) Francis, Elizabeth (Neal) Smythe, Melissa (Travis) Maple, Coty (Rebeca) O’Dea, Colton Francis, Madison Francis, Austin (Mary Beth) Francis, Lindsay (Tanner) Scott, Drew Francis, and 18 great grandchildren. She is survived by four sisters; Madia Campbell, Eula Manns, Beulah (Willard) Yates, Alice Owens, and two brothers, Orville Owens and John (Helen) Owens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers; Lynn Owens, Curtis Owens, Virgil Owens and Burl Owens.
She had a love for gardening, cooking and baking, greeting visitors with “Have you eaten yet? Can I fix you something?” But her most prized possessions were her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a previous member of the Gospel Hill church for 45 years, later becoming a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Claypool.
Visitation will be at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Claypool, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28. The service will be at the church on Wednesday at 11 a.m., with Pastors Terry Bradford and Bob Brown officiating. Interment will follow the service in Lakeview cemetery, Silver Lake. McHatton-Sadler Funeral chapel, Warsaw is entrusted with arrangements.
