O. Eugene “Gene” England, 78, Claypool, Ind., passed away Friday, April 27, 2012, at 2:37 a.m., in the home of his son, Randy.
He was born Aug. 21, 1933, Prestonsburg, Ky., to George and Alkie (Poe) England. He married Bonnie Lou Shoemaker on June 7, 1955.
Mr. England was an assistant manager of one of the Maple Leaf farms, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by two sons: Randy (Sarah) England, Claypool; and Junior (Erma) England, Warsaw, Ind.; a daughter: Connie Sheperd, Warsaw; two brothers: Elmer (Maggie) England, Warsaw; and James England, California; six grandchildren: Tracy Miller, Brandy England, Jesica England, Christan England, Bonnie Sheperd, Mika Shepherd; and 10 great-grandchildren: Demarcus, Kegan, Christan, Akashia, Kayla, Nick, Sydney, Jada, Krissa and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his wife and four brothers: Bill Lotchewood Sexton, Vallis England, Dallas England and George England, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool.
