Delmar Estep Sr.

Delmar Estep Sr., 69, Mentone, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2022. He was born Dec. 5, 1952, in Matewan, W.Va., the son of the late James and Alta (Blankenship) Estep. On July 3, 1971, Delmar married Mary (Wadkins) Estep in Warsaw. He retired from Superior Wood Products after 30 years with the company. Delmar loved the time he spent with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren; he was a sports fan who liked University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball and Miami Dolphins football.

Delmar is survived by Mary Estep, his wife of 51 years, and their children; daughters, Billie (Allan) Lasley, Yuma, Ariz. and Nikki (Brian) Loy, Claypool; sons, Scott (Laura) Wadkins, New Paris and Delmar (Shelly) Estep Jr., Silver Lake; sisters, Norma Wadkins, Mentone and Kathy (Gary) Shuey, Rochester; his grandchildren, Kayloni Isbell, Autum Estep, Whitney Rodriguez, Sydney Westbrook, Taylor Sleeth, Noah Spratt, Allison Newcomer, Madison Estep, Delmar Estep III, Kennedi Lasley, Carter Lasley and Gabriel Lasley; his great-grandchildren, Leyton Isbell, Easton Isbell, Addyson Ranstead, Kinsley Isbell, Santiago Rodriguez, Matias Rodriguez and Camden Westbrook, with three more on the way.

In addition to his parents, Delmar was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Estep and Frank Estep.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. Visitation also from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mentone Cemetery. The family’s preferred memorial is Transitions Hospice, 1551 Bond St., Suite 143, Naperville, IL 60563.
