
Frank Swick
Franklin L. Swick, 86, of rural Burket, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, at his residence.
Frank was born on Oct. 22, 1937, in Akron, to the late Claude E. and Fern E. (Warren) Swick. He attended Burket High School. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army. On Dec. 22, 1962, in Burket, he married Judith E. Cook, who preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2023.
He was a volunteer for Seward Township/Burket Fire Department for over 62 years. Frank worked for Dalton Foundry for over 50 years. He also attended the Burket United Methodist Church. In years past, he enjoyed racing in Warsaw. He loved to watch NASCAR and was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip, and most recently Kevin Harvick.
He is survived by his children, Annette Swick, of Burket, Derrill (Paula) Swick, of San Antonio, Texas, Ginger (Joe) Bishop, of Indianapolis, Pepper (Robert) Bell, of Fort Wayne, and Mike Swick, of Warsaw; grandchildren, Jordan (wife Kaycee), Cody, Samuel, Matthias, Alexander, Tyler, Colton and Shawna; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Paxton; sisters, Arlene Miller, of Pierceton, and Marilyn (James) Collins, of Rochester; and brothers, Ronnie Swick, of Claypool, David (Tammy) Swick, of Mentone, and Mark (Valerie) Swick, of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy; sisters, Nancy Kuhn and Phyllis Swick; and brothers, Eldon and Macks Swick.
No service at the funeral home will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held at the Burket Fire Department at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18.
The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
The interment will take place, at a future date, along with his wife, Judy, in the Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
