James EdwardsJames C. Edwards, 71, of Claypool, Ind., went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at his residence.

On June 6, 1941, James was born to Toye and Bell (Hashman) Edwards in Pound, Va. James was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County for past 50 years residing in Leesburg and Claypool.

James was a member of the Warsaw Eagles, and the Veterans of Foreign Warsaw Post 1126 in Warsaw. James retired from the local Uniroyal plant in Warsaw as a Machine Operator in 1981. James served our country in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961.

James is survived by his son: Tom Edwards, Claypool.; a daughter: Sherri Wright, Claypool; two sisters: Phillys Lakey, Leesburg, Ind.; and Zora (Terry) Massing, Spartarsburg, S.C.; four grandchildren: Shanna Wright, Warsaw, Ind.; Tiffany (Tyler) Deardorff, Vacaville, Calif.; Shane Wright, Warsaw; and Travis Edwards, Claypool; and three great-grandchildren: Kenadi and Zecharias Wright and De’ Shun Hayes.

James was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services for James will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 18, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 18, at the funeral home. Chaplain Doug West will be officiating the service.
