Betty J. Dials

b1830c41-ef20-4f34-86b3-a73692eaac6fBetty J. Dials, 77, of Beaver Dam Lake, Claypool, Ind., passed away at 2:50 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at her residence.

She was born March 23, 1936, in Floyd County, Ky., to Clint and Gladys (Ratliff) Patton. On May 13, 1954, in Floyd County, Ky., to Alvin Dials, who preceded Oct. 29, 2003.

Betty worked for General Tire as well as being a homemaker. She also worked for Wagoner’s of Wabash and Kroger Egg also of Wabash.

She was a member of the Grant Street Baptist Church of Wabash. Betty always loved mushroom hunting and especially fishing. She was always the loving center of the family.

She is survived by two daughters: Sherry (Robert) “Tinker” Ritenour, Claypool, Ind.; and Norma Smith, Manchester, Ky.; and two sons: Alvin (Michele) Dials, Warsaw; and Clint (Kristy) Dials, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Otis, Robert and Clinton Patton; and a sister:
Delores Conley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister: Mary Ellen Bentley; and brothers: Donald and Bill Patton.

Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, Ind.; and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Pentecostal Church of Silver Lake, Ind., with Pastor Carl Hughes. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery in Wabash, Ind.
