Sally Ann (Snyder) Little, 83, Silver Lake, formerly of Claypool, died at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 9, 2022, at her residence in Silver Lake.

She was born July 14, 1939.

Sally is survived by her significant other Alan Baugher, Silver Lake; daughters, Lori (Chalmer) Campbell, Akron and Lisa (Mark) Nifong, Claypool; son, Dayton Paxton, Silver Lake; three grandsons; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sharon (Sheldon) Campbell, Argos.

Linda Kay Cripe, 76, Claypool, passed away on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.

She was born on Dec. 9, 1945. On June 5, 1964, Linda married the love of her life and best friend, David L. Cripe.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Cripe, Claypool; sons Jeff (Deanna) Cripe, Warsaw, and Greg (Tammy) Cripe, Noblesville; daughter Victoria (Ron) Cornell, Pierceton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother Larry (Karen) Coble, Warsaw; and sister Joyce (Jack) Hicks, Pierceton.

Lloyd E. Tillman, 96, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022.

He was born May 6, 1926.

Lloyd married Jessie Marcelle Markley on Dec. 15, 1947.

He is survived by his children, Pat (Joe) Walters, Claypool, Gary (Linda) Tillman, Bremen, Becky (Eddie) Drudge, Claypool and Dale (Deb) Tillman, Claypool; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Raymond H. Grubbs

Raymond H. Grubbs, 94, formerly of Claypool, (Beaver Dam Lake) died at 11:27 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Lake City Place, Warsaw.

Raymond was born Nov. 18, 1928, in Warsaw, to the late Harvey and Wreatha (Boyer) Grubbs. He married on Oct. 30, 1964, in Mentone, to Georgianna Dillingham Teel, who preceded him in death May 24, 2017.

Raymond was a lifetime resident of the Warsaw and Mentone areas. He attended Warsaw Schools. He left school in 1946 to serve his country in the U.S. Army. He proudly served in Alaska and New Jersey as a military policeman.

He worked at Mentone School for 27 years as a custodian. He attended Riverview Community Church of Tippecanoe, where he served on the council board for six years. Raymond enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, camping and was an excellent horseshoe pitcher and was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association.

He is survived by a daughter Sherry Lowry, Plymouth; stepdaughter Connie Haney, Mentone; stepson-in-law Steve Secrist, Warsaw; six grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings Violet (Frank) Unruh, Elaine Ellis and Martha (Don) Burnau.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; wife Georgie; son Mike Grubbs; sister Doris Gadson; brother Glen Grubbs; a stepdaughter Donita Secrist; and a stepson Ronald Teel.

The funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rod Ruberg officiating.

The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, with graveside military rites performed by the American Legion Post No. 49 of Warsaw.

Visitation hours will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.

Sue Jefferies

Sue Jefferies, 82, Winona Lake, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, surrounded by her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, Warsaw.

Born Dec. 14, 1939, in Warsaw, she was one of the five children of Harry and Velma Edington (Babcock). Sue was a graduate of Claypool High School. On Oct. 26, 1958, in Warsaw, Sue was united in marriage to Larry Jefferies. Together, they shared 57 years before his death in August 2016. The two spent their lives raising their two daughters, Laura and Aimee.

A loving and giving person, Sue was a friend to all and loved to help those who needed it most. She was always coming up with innovative ideas to make other’s lives easier. Sue was very crafty and enjoyed her time at Grace Village making pillowcases through Ryan’s Case for Smiles. She also enjoyed the euchre club at Grace Village. As the “queen of bedazzle,” Sue loved to shop at Goodwill for herself and could never go anywhere without her lipstick and jewelry. Most of all, Sue loved her family and treasured time spent with them.

Those who survive with broken hearts include her daughters, Laura (Ken) Schue and Aimee (Bob) Hartwiger; four granddaughters, Mandy (Bret) Walters, Carol (Mark) Simmons, Brittany (Jake) Herendeen and Abbey Hartwiger; four great-grandchildren, Delaney Walters, Cooper Walters, Claire Walters, Aiden Walters and another on the way; and sister, Edith Marvel. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Edington and Velma Evans; husband, Larry; brothers, George Edington and Harry Edington Jr.; and sister Maybelle Medlam.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Sue’s care. Friends and family may gather from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, for visitation. The funeral service will begin at noon Monday, Dec. 19, 2022, at the funeral home, with the doors opening at 11 a.m. Sue will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oakwood Cemetery.

Guy Alspaugh

Guy L. Alspaugh, 85, longtime resident of Warsaw, died surrounded by his family Monday, Dec. 19, 2022.

Born May 22, 1937, in Silver Lake, Guy was the son of Alvin and Lulu Alspaugh (Grube). He was a 1955 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. After high school, in 1956, he joined the United States Marine Corps. On Jan. 5, 1957, he was united in marriage to Nancy VandeWater in Auburn. The two have shared 65 years together.

Professionally, Guy owned his own his own businesses. He first owned Claypool Aluminum Products, then Guy’s Bending Fixtures. He owned the business from 1970 until his retirement in 2010. He was truly a hardworking man.

Guy was well-liked by everyone and never met a stranger. Along with his friends, he loved spending time with his family. Guy had a passion for collecting antique tractors, especially Minneapolis Moline tractors. He enjoyed flying airplanes, owning one of his own in the past. He was a member of the Mentone Flying Club. Being the adventurous guy he was, and due to his love of planes, Guy also went skydiving several times throughout his life.

Along with his wife Nancy, those who survive include his three sons, Eric (Karen) Alspaugh, Tim (Tina) Alspaugh and Andy (Jennifer) Alspaugh; grandchildren, Nate (Sheree) Alspaugh, Nicole Gordon, Benjamin Alspaugh, Jacob (Christine) Alspaugh, Clint (Sarah) Harris, Luke Harris, Joseph Alspaugh and Olivia Alspaugh; great-grandchildren, Alexander, Tecumseh and Spartacus; and siblings, Mary (Scott) Wolfe, John (Judy) Alspaugh, Esther (Jerry) Tucker and Naomi Lintow. He is further survived by many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ina Oney and Coraethel McConnell; and brother, Ivan Alspaugh.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services is entrusted with Guy’s care. Friends may join his family from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022, at the funeral home, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw. She was born June 7, 1988.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Stan (Kim) Witmer, North Manchester; mother and stepfather, Nelda (Dwayne Quakenbush) Wrightsman Witmer, Lagro; children, Abigail, Elijah, Thaddeus and Madison Neal; brothers, Brian Witmer, North Manchester and Trenton (Maria Zimmer) Witmer, Logansport; sisters, Stephanie (Austin Gall) Baldridge, Claypool and Jenna (Joel) Reavis, Wonewoc, Wis.; maternal grandparents, Everett and Ruth (Blocher) Wrightsman; and paternal grandmother, Edna (Wenger) Witmer.

David L. Kuhn

David L. Kuhn, 73, Mentone, died at 1:06 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at his residence in Mentone.

David was born Aug. 8, 1949, in Rochester, to the late Donald and Norma (Williamson) Kuhn. He was previously married to Suzannah (Blodgett) Kuhn.

He was a 1967 graduate of Mentone High School. David had been a parts and service manager at numerous automobile agencies in the area. He had also worked in sales for Culligan of Kokomo. He had served his community, in years past, as a volunteer at the Burket Fire Department. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and watching Westerns, especially “Gunsmoke.” He was a big fan of Elvis and played saxophone and sang in a rock band.

He is survived by his children Amber Kuhn, Peru, Tiffany (Michael “Jamie”) Scheffer, Kokomo and David Dustin Kuhn; five grandchildren; siblings Pamela (Darrell) Miller, Mentone, Gary (Marla) Kuhn, Etna Green and Tim (Laura) Kuhn, Claypool; and stepsister Debbie (Rodney) Clark, Rochester.

David was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Evelyn Kuhn.

The memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, where family and friends can share memories.

Memorial visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.

Thomas “Tom” W. Gautschi, 84, Wabash, died at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at his residence in Wabash.

He was born July 25, 1938.

He married Delores Roth on Sept. 19, 1959.

Tom is survived by his wife, Delores Gautschi, Wabash; three daughters, Cathleen (Larry) Wilke, Hamlet, Diane Barton, Wabash and Cindy Gautschi, South Whitley; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn Gautschi, Warren, Ohio.

Derek M. Kaser

Derek M. Kaser, 30, rural Claypool, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, at his residence in Claypool.

Derek was born May 1, 1992, in Columbia City, to Mike and Johna Kaser. He was a 2010 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. He worked as a millwright for Local Union 1076 of Warsaw. He loved his children and was very dedicated to his work. He traveled all over the country doing major repairs. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved riding dirt bikes and fishing. There wasn’t anything he was scared of, whether it be jumping off cliffs or working on top of wind turbines.

Derek is survived by his children Bently, Jaydon and Kinzley; parents Mike and Johna Kaser, Akron; siblings Brooke (Brody) Townsend, Rochester and Tyler Kaser, Fulton; maternal grandparents John and Crystal Weida, Akron; paternal grandparents Lynn and Carolyn Kaser, Churubusco; nephew Jake; and nieces Nova and Peyton.

The memorial funeral service will take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with Pastor Jeff Sumner officiating.

The interment will take place in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, following the service.

Memorial visitation will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.

Edward J. D. Boggs, 89, rural Wabash, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, at Bickford Cottage, Wabash.

He was born May 24, 1933.

Ed married Lucille Scott on April 22, 1950; she preceded him in death.

He is survived by three children, Sharon (Ronald) Greiner, Wabash, Melessa (Todd) Eltzroth, Roann and Dwayne (Joann) Boggs, Wabash; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Molly Lewis, Cumberland, Ky.

Patsy Ann Brallier

Patsy Ann Brallier

Patsy Ann (Wilson) Brallier, 92, died Dec. 28, 2022, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.

She was born Nov. 10, 1930, in rural Claypool, to Paul Wilson and Maggie Rudy Jamison Wilson. Patsy graduated from Warsaw High School in 1949. On July 2, 1950, she married her high school sweetheart Ferrel R. Brallier who preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, James and Philip Wilson.

Patsy graduated from Fort Wayne Beauty College and owned and operated Pattie’s Petite Parlor for over 30 years. After retiring from hairdressing, she moved to Naples, Fla., where she worked in ladies’ apparel.

During her youth, she was active in the First Baptist Church. She became a member of the chancel choir, a path she would follow in every church she attended throughout her life. After marrying, she became an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw. While living in Naples, Fla., she was active in the East Naples UMC. In 2009, she moved back to Indiana to be closer to family and settled into a Robinhood Home at Grace Village. She enjoyed reconnecting with her First Church friends and making new ones at Celebration Church. She lived at Grace Village until moving to Peabody in September 2022.

Patsy is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Mike) Musa and Cindy (Jerry) Gackenheimer; three grandsons; Christopher (Melissa Barton) Gackenheimer, Cory (Melonie) Gackenheimer and Matthew (Christine O’Neill) Musa; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Eden, Jude and Ansel Gackenheimer and Mitchell and Margaret Musa.

Patsy lived a life of joy and spread it wherever she went. A celebration of her joyful life will be held at 2 p.m. April 22, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, 179 S. Indiana St., Warsaw, IN 46580, with visitation an hour before and a reception in fellowship hall after the service.

Amelia R. “Millie” Helton, 85, Marion, formerly of Akron and Silver Lake, died Dec. 28, 2022, at Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion.

She was born Aug. 26, 1937.

On Feb. 18, 1977, Millie married Grady Helton. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Lee (Suzanne) Egolf, Mount Juliet, Tenn., Johnny (Elizabeth) Egolf, Marion and Jason (Torie) Helton, Claypool; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

David E. Saint, 75, Claypool, longtime resident of Kosciusko County, died Dec. 19, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Jan. 28, 1947.

He was married to the Karen K. (Randbottom) Saint on Feb. 15, 1969. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by daughter, Kay Zolman; son, Carl Saint; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Cheri Ann Kline

Cheri Ann Kline

Cheri Ann Kline, Warsaw, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, at the age of 72.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1950 in Flint, Mich., to Marcelyn Sue (Ennis) and Robert James Bezenah. She grew up in Michigan and graduated in 1968 from high school in Flushing, Mich. She then attended nursing school in Flint, graduating as an LPN in 1969.

She married Earl Kline on Nov. 8, 1969, and they were blessed with two sons and celebrated 53 years of marriage together before she passed away. She made her home in Kosciusko County for the past 50 years and worked as a nurse for many years prior to working in the family business. She always kept busy, and she worked until her passing.

She was a member of Warsaw Family Worship Center. She loved to spread the Word and was a member of the Auxiliary of The Gideons International, Warsaw/Winona Camp and presently she was serving as Indiana Auxiliary Scripture Fund Coordinator.  She loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren at their many sporting events, always cheering them on with a big smile. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She had a kind heart and a beautiful soul. She was an absolute inspiration to everyone who knew her. She is now celebrating the new year in her new home in Heaven.

She is survived by her husband: Earl H. Kline, Warsaw; two sons: Duane (Rickell) Kline, Claypool; and Darren Kline, Warsaw; three grandchildren: Kara, Kendra and Kaleb Kline; and her brother: Brian (Denise) Bezenah, Pickney, Mich. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family may visit from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Warsaw Family Worship Center, 1250 Husky Trail, Warsaw. There will also be an hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday.

Cheri’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at Warsaw Family Worship Center, and officiated by Pastor William Whitaker and assisted by Cheri’s son, Duane Kline. A graveside service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.

John Pippenger Jr., 86, Milford, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday evening, Jan. 8, 2023, at Goshen General Hospital, Goshen.

He was born May 19, 1936.

On Jan. 15, 1955, he married Joan Loucks.

John is survived by his wife of almost 68 years Joan Pippenger, Milford; two children, Steve (Kitty) Pippenger, Milford and Nancy (Rick) Teater, Cedar Park, Texas; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
